Good story but unbalanced game mechanics.
This game is a lot of fun, but it can also be very frustrating. The story is decent in that the characters are fleshed out well with their own motivations and are not cookie cutter. On the other hand, the plot suffers from being predictable and generic; however, the story is still good overall.
The mechanics of finding and “tuning” your own monsters to build your own monster team are fun at first, but they suffer from poor balancing and design. In particular, it can take five to ten tries to tune a single monster, and you need to tune many monsters if you want to win the game. Another issue is that bosses are ridiculously strong; this results in you hitting a wall that may require two to three hours of grinding to surmount. The final boss of the game is particularly strong, and you can lose easily even with the best of monsters. Grinding would be easier and less frustrating if there were not caps on stats based on monster type.
All in all, I enjoyed this game, and since it is free and has no ads, I highly recommend other people play it as well. It is just not a spectacular game by any means.
Pros:
- Easy to avoid battles.
- Decent story.
- No ads and free to play.
- Monster-catching mechanic is unique among most of Kemco's games.
Cons:
- Monster collection system is grindy and frustrating.
- Some bosses, especially the final one for true end, are near impossible to kill.
- No difficulty levels.
One challanging pokemon-like game.
This game is for someone who likes a challange, and likes pokemon. The start of the game is quite easy, just get your monsters at level 10 and you can chese the first boss. After a while, your told to capture one of the, if not the best monster in the game, Phoenix. This monster, a long with killer moves, is literally how your supposed to beat the game in a timely manner. (Bu timely, I mean 20+ hours of grinding and failed captures) But to get to the point, It is a fun game, and the story line doesnt sound that good at the start, but it is really good once you get 2-3 hours into it. The monster system allows you to customize your team, but there are indefinatly monsters that are better than others. Just as a rule of thumb, 6 note cost monsters are trash. The monster fusion system allows you to combine two monsters together to increase maximum level, but also can change what your monster is. All around, nice, stupidly awesome challange.
Pros:
- Custimisable party, great story, good for pokemon fans
Cons:
- Long, and need very certain moves to advance through the game at points.
