The Northern Cave

This is another area that you don't have to do in order to complete the game, but I'm including it here because it's got some useful treasure.
To reach this location, fly to the northeast corner of the World Map past the Town of the Moon Folk. Look for a small clearing east of the mountain range and land your phoenix there. Now walk north along the mountains, then follow them to the west to reach the Northern Cave.
First Screen
When you enter the cave, light the candlestick and take the path to the northwest. At the end of this path there's a Diffusing Gem.
Now go back to the entrance and take the path to the northeast. This path leads all the way to the exit to the second screen.
Second Screen
There’s a secret passage here that leads north to treasure.
On the second screen, light the candlestick and take the path to the southeast to get an Elixir.
Now go to the northeast and get the treasure above the candlestick.
Now, east of the candlestick there's a secret passage. Even if you light the candlestick, you won't be able to see the secret passage very well, and you'll never see the treasure at the end.
Just walk as far as you can, and then press the Confirm button to get the Rival's Cord.
Now take the path to the west around the rocks. In the far northwest corner there's a Reinforcing Gem. Get the treasure, then follow the path around the northern edge of the rocks to the exit to the third screen.
Third Screen
Go west to get a Reinforcing Gem, and east to get a Diffusing Gem. Then use the Recovery point and go north for the Boss battle.

Ice Dragon
The Master of the Earth-Depths (aka Ice Dragon)

1800EXP/2000G
Weakness: Thunder
Drop: Sands of Life
Remember to use Poison Needle early in battle!
Ice Dragon is weak against Thunder, so if you have any Thunder skills use them.
(I didn't have any, because the only one I really use is the Flames of Hell, and it worked out alright.)
Keep a close eye on everyone's health and SP, because this battle will take awhile.
Also, it’d be a really good idea to equip all four Anti-curse necklaces for this battle, as Ice Dragon does sometimes use Confusion.
After the battle, get the treasure chest - it's Machine Breaker. Now leave the cave and head for the Royal Club.
Treasure
- Diffusing Gem - located at the end of the northwest passage on the first screen.
- Elixir - located in the southeast corner of the second screen.
- Diffusing Gem - located in the northeast corner of the second screen (above the candlestick).
- Rival's Cord - located at the end of a secret passage on the second screen (you won't see the treasure, but it's there.)
- Reinforcing Gem - located in the northwest corner of the second screen.
- Reinforcing Gem - located in the southwest corner of the third screen.
- Diffusing Gem - located in the southeast corner of the third screen.
- Machine Breaker - located on the third screen after the Boss battle.

- Ice Wolf - drops Potion; Sands of Strength
