The Oasis

Fun Fact: The butterflies in various locations actually fly.

To get to the Oasis, head due north from the Quicksand Path and enter the small green area in the middle of the desert.

There's a Boss battle here, and you'll be prompted to save your game as soon as you enter the area. You can save now, or you can get the treasures, go to the Recovery point, and then save.

There are two treasures in the Oasis. The one in the northwest corner is Bronze Armor, and the one in the southeast corner is a Bronze Dress.

There's also a Green door in the northeast corner, but you can't open it until you have the Emerald Key.

Walk south of the Recovery point, and you meet a girl named Clia. As she's talking to you, you get ambushed by giant ants.

This isn't a particularly hard battle, especially if you've upgraded your skills. Use Violent Slash, Double Shot, and Clia's Fireball Lv2, and watch everyone's health.

Occasionally, one of them will use Call an Ally, and summon a new Silent Creeper to join the fight. Also, they'll sometimes use Formic Acid, which reduces your speed, but it's nothing to worry about.

Just keep attacking one at a time and eventually you'll beat them.

After the battle, Clia tells you she was exploring the Desert Ruins to the north, looking for clues about the machines. Apparently the enemies you just fought followed Clia from the Desert Ruins.

She tells you if you're going to Kuto, you'll need to go through another quicksand path, and she gives you a topographical map to help you find your way. (The Topographical Map also lets you check the map of any town you're in.)

After that, Clia leaves, and it's off to the next location - the Quicksand Path 2.

Note: If you talk to the Traveler here after the Boss battle, he'll tell you how to get through the northern Quicksand Path. (East to the first gravestone, north to two gravestones, west to three gravestones, north to four gravestones, then walk east.) The Quicksand Path 2 is just north of the Oasis.
