I have detailed notes about all the arena monsters (but that is at the end of the post-game).  There is one awful dungeon in the post game (perhaps the developer fixed it some), and it takes work to get to the post game.  But all in all there is a lot to like in “Eternal Concord.”

BTW, I also have videos for defeating all the arena monsters, should anybody get too frustrated and like some help.

I agree a lot to !ike.

As for early leveling (16~18) – west of Bravella is a small hut named Kulon. I found this place to be good because you can Steal\Mug a monster named Crystal for Black Holes. I am guessing you need those for later. Plus the Kulon hut has free resting!

And for the other 4. I’ll give some cliffs notes on them.

There are a few battles in the arena that are tough to win without the proper party configuration.  Blacksmith, Warrior (or Thief) are important.  Their special abilities are more important than their stats.  Fortunately you can swap members in/out quite easily (a real plus compared to most games).

Is a thief worth using on 1st playthrough? I love stealing in games especially great weps, armor and accesories.. Is there anything worthwhile stealing? Thanks!!

I don’t recall that much, but I’m not sure it matters.  I have a note to myself that says all characters get the skill “Steal” at level 40, but by that time you don’t need to steal anything.  So probably steal isn’t that valuable.  On the other hand, the arena in the post game allows you to change character jobs. so you can create a thief there (and his agility is useful, but not required).  The good news is that prior to the post game, I don’t think it matters too much about party configuration.  It matters a lot in the post game arena, but then you have the ability to create jobs (so you can even a team of nothing but blacksmiths, for example).
