    Do the passive skills needing formations to learn have to use that form in order to get the provided bonus? I am leaning towards it needing that formation but hoping against hope that it can be any formation after learning gets the bonus. I ask because no matter if in the formation or not there is not an indicator of which bonus is active. Please let me know as I just got this game and loving it so far (this is the case for almost all with the exception of a couple of Kemco games)

    The passive that specifically says what it affects, will affect it only. Such is the case with formations.

    It is true you won’t see the difference in formation screen and possibly during battles but once unlocked it’s there.
