So how exactly do jobs work? I know you have to have the right Deed in order to change jobs, and when you change jobs, your stats go back to Level 1, and you have to build up again until you get to Level 10 to switch again.
Also what are tier levels I keep hearing about?
Basically I am about to start post game and want to understand how I can boost my stats real high.

May 10, 2020 at 11:02 am #38014Jobs have different Abilities and magic your characters can get, so it is advised to switch jobs to get Best Skills from all of them (note: You can only have 20 Skills for any given character and whatever Skills the Chatacter had BEFORE Job Change, all those Skills will be learnable for next Job you choose through Level Ups. Choose wisely as any Forgotten Spell has to be acquired again from Original Job.)
Some Jobs have 3 “Tiers” which mean the better Job gives more Stat Boost for character and has better Skills for him/her.

May 10, 2020 at 7:28 pm #38026Those are helpful indeed, but I guess I am looking for more of a tutorial understanding of how it works. Let’s take Blont for example. He started off as a Warrior, and without knowing what I am doing, I changed him into an Archer, which started at Level 1 but with much lower stats than before. Then after reaching Level 10 with that, I switched him back to Warrior, but it was resetted back to Level 1, again with lower stats. How does one get better stats by bouncing around between jobs?
And regarding the tier levels, how do you know which tier level you are at?
I know what I am saying doesn’t make sense, but I’ve never been one for the whole “character jobs” gimmick in RPGs. I just rather play a game outright without having to deal with that mess lol.

Secretly agrees with StarFighters76
Would very much prefer to deal with micromanaging a garden ingame over dealing with jobs
In most games, you master a job to get its skills, and then move on and never go back. (I rarely change default job because the jobs tend to change status allocation and I like default allocations. Personally, would only change to a more balanced one.)

In this game you don’t have to do Job Changes until you’ll defeat the “Final Boss” (after which you’ll unlock new areas where difficulty rises significantly, forcing players to do Job Changes). But, you will also find a place, where you’ll get better Level Up Options (as long as you have the item that gives Experience to all characters).
The higher a character level is before Job Change, the better stats he/she will have next time said person reaches the same level.
If you click on “History”, you will see additional Previous Job Requirements, which are other Jobs your character has to be at least one time to unlock new Job (I see the confusion you may have as when I looked at Temple Guy, all Jobs were placed weirdly.) Third Tier Jobs are: God Hand (Best Weapon-Based Skills) and Magical Star (Best Magic-Based Spells). Your main goal is to get Both Jobs for all Characters when it can be unlocked. Other Jobs are only important for additional Skills/Spells, they are not great to get your Stats to high numbers.
I’m terrible at writing Tutorials..

May 11, 2020 at 6:00 am #38050Mastertrek, your not far off. The only thing you really missed was the fact of that to start switching jobs, you need certain items. You can get every job except the ultimate mage job before post game, and I would highly recommend getting everyone their jobs mastered before the final boss. With jobs, the final boss is a freaken pain
Think this was my final party back in the day:
- Tink: gigavolt, lvl25-30
- Temi: Sage, healing
- Zilva: Melee offense and debuffs\buffs
- The elf dude: bow spamming, two hit bow on
- The last one is personal preference. Anyone else would fit dps, or use Mazendia for double heals\offense mix

Thanks for the tip I missed. π
I didn’t have the need to swap Jobs before I found the area with good EXP per minute rate, I believe my team was at high 50’s before I went for the boss.. But, you are right. Having the best Spells is good to have before taking on the Final Boss.
The Only Jobs that matter are God Hand and Magical Star because they give the most Additional Stat Points (I know because I grinded enough to get Claw past 1000 Attack, didn’t want to do it further).
A lot of Japanese people (or this is what I saw) had “Hacked” Teams in Online Battles so my advice is to not fight there at all.
Also, getting all Boss-Specific Items requires beating the Final Boss, after that you can fight All Bosses infinitely but only once per 6 hours. Every 10 Boss Levels, the 10th Kill grants you a Special Item. Advice here is to go to All Bosses every 6 hours to get the items quicker.
