This is an attractive open world game, involving 4 protaganists on a quest to save the planet & all who inhabit it – and is a decent addition to the Kemco mini-rpg family.
There are many features which will be familiar to kemco players, such as in-game shop, tickets, weapon & effects customization/ upgrading etc. The enemies/monsters are redesigned, not just recoloured and the scenery is not simply regurgitated as in some kemco releases. And the dungeons – and open world, also have new decor blocks, making it no so ‘been there – done that’ for kemco regulars.
The skill/stat upgrading system, the Soul Map is, however, refreshingly new (in my kemco experience) and is a decent mini-version interpretation of the legendary Sphere Grid from Final Fantasy X and doesn’t end up with all allies having all the same skills eventually. You can also upgrade learned skills, abilities and stats – though the items required for this take some effort to attain.
You can also earn/steal Battle Coins, during or following battles and in the 5 Battle Arenas, with which you can purchase items, weapons etc from another shop.
There are however, some features modern gamers may expect, which are absent – there is no ‘repeat last action’, tho’ has cursor memory, when using stat seeds there is no indication of how many remain and the monster catalogue show info such as drops, but no location info (not even a little hint)
There is also a dirty of decent grinding / farming spots and attaining the weapons & effects you require for weapon synthesis can take some effort to acquire. Battle Coins are generally easy to attain.
I also found that the Help section, was not always particularly helpful and occasionally confusing and some of the effects on weapons, accessories etc were not always easy to understand.
The Holy weapon trophies are also confusing, as there are Holy Weapons in the in-game shop, which are not the weapons you need to attain this trophy!
Overall, I enjoyed this game and found it to be one of the better recent PS4 releases.

Pros:
  • Soul map upgrade syste,
  • Good spread of skills across the protaganists
  • Open World, freedom to roam
  • Newly designed enemies, backgrounds
Cons:
  • Lack of farming/grinding locations
  • Too easy - auto-battle will generally one-shot enemies
  • Confusing help sectiom

World of wonders

I love this game.
It involves a refreshingly different kind of grinding.
If anything, level 99 comes so quickly that my mind was blown when I met a boss strong enough to stop me.

Pros:
  • Story
  • Equipment
Cons:
  • ???- can't really think of any.
