Brallinay is a bit more complex than previous dungeons, but still you shouldn't have any problems finding your way around.

On the second screen, there's some dialogue about the proto-golems and the Chronicles of the Creation of the Earth. Ryle wonders how the proto-golems disappeared, but nobody seems to know the answer. Then Ryle gets picked on (as usual), and the journey continues.

On the fourth screen, you run into Gardino. Gardino says he's come to challenge you, and he's hoping you've grown stronger since the first time you met. (Apparently, Gardino believes that if he can be defeated by a strong opponent, that somehow he himself will become even stronger. Strange, but true.)

Anyway, you're about to have a really fun, fantastic Boss battle!

Boss Battle

Gardino

• 800EXP/2000G/5AP
• Drop: Secret Potion of the Heavens
• Steal: Hercules' Elixir

Gardino is hard, and he uses a skill that can kill a party member in one hit, so make sure you have plenty of Resurrection Potions, and save one bar of the deadliness gauge for Holy Breath.

I used Ryle, Denoas, Rumil, and Karin for this battle.

On your first turn, have Karin steal the Hercules' Elixir.

Have Ryle use Berserk, and Denoas use Critical Up - then, on Ryle's next turn use Raging Wrath.

As soon as Karin has stolen from Gardino, use Poison Gem to inflict Poison (it will work, but might take more than one attempt.) Once Gardino is poisoned, Karin can use either Shadowslash or Waterbomb.

Denoas can use Rapid Rush or Repeated Blows. Ryle should use Forceful Blow. (Gardino resists paralysis so there's no need to use Crescent Edge). Rumil should either Heal, or use Holy Breath as needed.

Once his health is down below 20% (and everyone in your party has high HP), feel free to use another Raging Wrath to speed up the end of the battle.

If you're playing on Hard mode, Gardino will take a long time to defeat, and this battle will be very satisfying.

After the Battle

After the battle ends, Gardino says you're still not strong enough, and then he just walks off.

Go north to the next screen and finish exploring Brallinay.

When you get close to the end of this dungeon, there's a screen with an exit in the northwest corner to a side room.

This room contains the last treasure in the dungeon, and it also has a strange crystal at the end.

If you examine this crystal, the game says "There's a horrible atmosphere..."

There are 5 crystals like this in different dungeons throughout the game.

These crystals will become important later on, as you unlock some of the Bonus Material, so you'll want to remember where they're all located.

On the final screen in Brallinay, you get the Azure Jewel. Once you have it, head south of Slanorona to Zillballinay.
