Granzalk Castle Town

There’s really not much to say about Granzalk Castle Town.

You can go to the weapons shop here, but don’t buy anything - all they sell is the gear that you already started with.

There's a side quest on the second floor of the Inn, and another one in the southeast corner of town.

(Although they're not actually called Side Quests in this game, there are a number of quests spread throughout the game, and some of them yield some pretty nice rewards. These quests will be noted at the bottom of the location walkthrough pages, and additionally on the Side Quests page.)

When you're ready, leave town and cross the bridge on the World Map to reach the Silent Forest.

Changing the Difficulty

If you’re playing on Hard mode and decide it’s too difficult, there’s an Old gentleman in Granzalk Castle Town who will let you switch to Normal mode.

However, if you switch to Normal mode, you can’t go back to Hard mode later.

(For the most part, Hard mode isn’t really that hard, anyway, so if you started on Hard I’d recommend you just keep it that way. Otherwise, you may find that Normal is too easy.)
