Once you get here, Hargna leaves your party. There's a short scene between her and Gardino, and then it’s time to rescue Runatie, before the soldiers take her back to Granzalk!

Note: On the first screen of the Path, there's a Merchant who sells just a handful of recovery items. I never bothered with buying anything here, but if you're really short on potions, you might want to stock up before going on.

There are three screens in the Path to the Pier, and the final screen has a Boss battle.

Boss Battle

Commander, Advanced Axeman, Advanced Spearman, Advanced Swordsman

• 2100EXP/4130G/9AP
• Drop: Deadliness Ring
• Steal: Spilrau, Cureall, Lucklau, Extra-Special Potion of Life

The key to this battle is to prevent the enemy from attacking you as much as possible.

Use Sleep and Poison early and often, and meanwhile have everybody gang up on one enemy at a time.

Have Ryle use Berserk and Charge, and have Golban use Defense Crush on the first soldier (then put him back to Sleep on Karin's next turn.)

Now use Raging Wrath on the first two soldiers, and have Karin poison the rest.

Now you can use Crescent Edge to paralyze the third soldier, and then have everyone attack him until he's dead.

When you’re down to just the Commander, keep using Crescent Edge to keep him paralyzed. Use Defense Crush on him, and then just attack until you get two bars on your deadliness gauge, then use either Raging Wrath or Oma-Zangetsu. Now he should be down to about 25% HP, so go ahead and use your skills to slowly finish him off.

After the Path to the Pier, you can go back to the Ship Pier, or use a Crystal of Return to go straight to the Dwarves’ Village.

Treasure

• There’s a Fossil Plate on the second screen.

If you didn’t find the Fossil Plate before the Boss battle, make sure to go back and get it before you leave the Path. Once you leave the Path to the Pier, you can never come back.
